Neighborhood Services Addison sits in a shopping center off Beltline — valet out front, limited self-park if you’d rather not, Whole Foods next door. The room is warm and well-designed: exposed industrial ceiling, dark wood bar stacked with bottles, leather booths that make the dining side feel like a proper sit-down rather than a casual neighborhood spot. The energy is right.
The drinks are the best argument for coming. Scores an 8/10 from us: the cocktail list is creative, the bar staff clearly know what they’re doing, and the coupe cocktail we opened with — frothy, citrus-forward, clean finish — was exactly the kind of thing that sets a good tone for the night. The wine list holds up too.
On the food: the crispy asparagus is the dish to order. Tempura-battered, properly executed, served with a creamy dipping sauce and shaved cabbage — it’s one of those appetizers that makes you wish you’d ordered two. Start here, full stop. The ceviche is solid as well: good variety of fish, bright acid, clean flavors, and the chips-on-the-side presentation works. Both appetizers outperformed both mains.
The off-menu haddock special is where things get complicated. The plate looks the part — seared fish over corn succotash with a roasted pepper sauce, garnished with microgreens — and the flavors are genuinely good. But at $30 for an off-menu special it’s priced for something exceptional, and it lands at something very good. The gap matters at that price point.
The French dip has been showing up on menus across Dallas lately, and this one is fine: solid au jus, decent bread, coleslaw on the side. Nothing about it stands out in a way that would make you choose it over comparable versions elsewhere. If you’re here, the fish is the better call.
Service is a genuine 10/10 and the clearest differentiator. The staff are warm, attentive, and run a team approach that means you’re never left waiting while your server is occupied elsewhere. The bathrooms are well-stocked with amenities — a small thing that signals a place that’s paying attention to the details.
The verdict: Neighborhood Services runs strong on ambiance, drinks, and hospitality. The food sits at a 6/10 — competent, occasionally great (that asparagus), occasionally overpriced (the haddock), and never bad. We’d come back for the bar program and the apps. We’re not rushing.
